Assisted Background Generation
In our lives we choose many things that help shape our future. Our beginnings, family home, parents and siblings help define us before those choices are made. While you have alot of freedom to shape your PC’s future, this campaign uses background generation to help aid you in your start.
Like all characters you start with your race.
The Gm will ask you to roll a single dice for each of the following categories of your background filling you in on some of the details.
Relative Age of each sibling
Gender of each sibling
Major Childhood Event.
With this information in mind you are then asked to pick a class fitting to your race, and childhood background. As a player you can make this choice freely, but keep in mind that your PC should have some reason behind it, and why the son of a Noble knight turned rogue instead of following his father’s footsteps.
Based on your class you are asked to roll a single d100 for your class. This helps determine what influences helped you into your current profession. sometimes this roll will pick aspects of your character, its good to roll with this information rather then fight it.
Once you have finished recording the data from these rolls, then we start developing your early profession.
We roll on tables for
The subject of your conflict, and your Motivation behind it.
Conflicts in themselves are vague leaving you to fill in the blanks. The Gm can help offer suggestions fitting to the campaign.
Finally after you have decided on the details of your conflict you pick and Choose a Resolution behind the conflict. This is generally how your PC feels about what happened. Based on his opinion, the conflict, target and motivation. you will receive a final CP value.
This value helps you determine your starting alignment. From your Total CP you “spend” points on the Lawful-Chaos Spectrum and Good-Evil Spectrum.
After your character background is fleshed out you take the time to build your character, via the creation rules.
